Tech adds commitment from JUCO OL
Louisiana Tech's offensive line struggled early in the 2013 season but improved immensely as the season progressed. One change that improved the line was at left tackle in Jeremy Graffree.
Graffree was a senior leaving Darrell Brown as the only player left tackle with any experience on the roster. With that little of experience at left tackle, arguably the most important position on the offensive line, Tech needed to add a junior college tackle.
Enter Blake Sharp.
Sharp had SEC attention as a Junior in high school as a defensive end from Mississippi State but the Bulldogs moved another direction.
Fast forward two years, and Sharp is an offensive tackle at East Mississippi Community College. Sharp is up to 285 pounds and stands 6-foot-4 and he says he was the strongest player on his team.
Tech and Northern Colorado were the only teams to offer him at tackle while he had plenty of other interest as an interior offensive lineman.
"I chose Tech because it's a place that fits me," Sharp said "Coach [Matt] Moore and I really hit it off and I think I will enjoy getting coached by him."
Possibly the best news yet is Sharp's availability for Spring Quarter at Tech making him available for spring football practice at Tech.
