Appleby Helps Bulldogs to Win

Minutes before tipoff, a young man broke in line at the concession stand. Waving two dollars in the air, he looked at the student working the booth and said in desperation, "I need Skitttles for He-map!"
"Who is He-map?" was the reply.
"Heem. Ap. Raheem Appleby."
"Oh. Ok. That'll be three dollars."
The young man searched his pockets, producing another bill. "I don't know why he needs them before every game, but he has to have them." He grabbed the Skittles and bolted down the hall.
Super Man ducks in a phone booth when it's time to save the day. Louisiana Tech's Raheem Appleby doesn't need a phone booth, but he does need to make sure and have a concession stand nearby at all times. Maybe Head Coach Mike White needs to take Appleby to Sam's Club and get a few cases.
Appleby twisted and contorted his body through the land and around defenders on his way to 15 points to lead the Bulldogs to a double digit win over Texas-Arlington.
Tech has now won eleven games in a row. The Bulldogs are 19-3 and a perfect 10-0 in the WAC. With tough road games left against Idaho, Seattle, Denver, and NMSU left to go; there is no time for Appleby and his young teammates to celebrate. They have plenty of unfinished business left to take care of.
Don't be surprised if the convenience stores in Denver and Las Cruces run out of Skittles in early March. Tech's opponents may try to knock the Bulldogs out of first place by keeping their leading scorer out of his favorite snack.
Tech fans can probably relax because The Candyman will make sure he is stocked up when he heads out west. Then it will be lights out for the rest of the WAC.
