Tech adds commitment no. 4 from Haughton's Craft
Louisiana Tech offered Jarred Craft a scholarship on Sunday and it did not take the running back from nearby Haughton long to make the decision to commit to Tech.
"First I asked my family and they thought it was a good place to be and to commit to," Craft said of his commitment to Tech. "Basically it was on me and it was a home away from home situation. I like the school, I like the program and I like my running backs coach and felt like it was were I should be."
Current Tech running back Marlon Seets also played at Haughton and has been texting with Craft since Tech offered on Sunday.
"Basically, [Seets] has just been saying he wants us to be teammates and he said he wanted us to share the wealth with the football."
Haughton head coach Rodney Guin says he stresses with his players when they make commitments that when they make that commitment the school is counting on them.
"I've always tried to stress to them that you are giving someone your word," Guin said. "We went through this with [Dak] Prescott when Mississippi State recruited him and they said look we're not going to recruit another quarterback if you commit and I told him those people kind of depend on you to keep your word."
Jarred has a twin brother, Jerrod, who plays strong safety for Haughton and an older brother who plays receiver for McNeese State, Jordan. His twin brother is now wanting an offer from Tech.
