No. 25 DB Kentrell Brice Analysis
Ruston
Ruston, La.

Height: 5-11
Weight: 180
Year: Sophomore

Depth Chart Projection: No. 1 or 2 strong safety

2012 Stats: 10 tackles in mostly special teams action

Brice was a highly recruiting defensive back out of Ruston High School and even received a visit from Oklahoma's Bob Stoops the week before signing day. Brice ultimately signed with Tech and saw action his freshman season mostly on special teams. Brice has good speed and is a sure tackler. With no returning starters at safety, Brice has a real shot at starting for the Bulldogs.

During the Spring, Brice started playing nickle but ended up moving to strong safety before the end of spring. Brice is good in run defense and is decent in pass defense.

In the Spring Game, Brice finished with two tackles.

Voting Rundown: Jonathan Ford - UR / Jason Jones - No. 17 / Jared King - No. 17

No. 24 LB Beau Fitte Analysis

South Plaquemines
Ocsher, La.

Height: 6-1
Weight: 210
Year: Sophomore

Depth Chart Projection: No. 1 or no. 2 outside linebacker

2012 Stats: 3 tackles, 1 pass breakup and 1 pass deflection

Fitte saw action in 2012 at linebacker and showed off his sideline to sideline speed. Tech's linebackers are not the deepest on the roster but have good speed nad Fitte is no exception.

During the Spring, Fitte played both middle and outside linebacker before finishing at outside linebacker.

Fitte finished with 2 tackles in the spring game.

Voting Rundown: Jonathan Ford - No. 18 / Jason Jones - No. 35 / Jared King - No. 27

No. 23 K Jonathan Barnes Analysis
Woodlawn
Baton Rouge, La.

Height: 5-10
Weight: 155
Year:Freshman

Depth Chart Projection: Starting kicker

2012 Stats: High School season

Barnes was a talented kicker Tech found during its camp circuit last summer. He was extremely accurate during two camps for Tech missing very few field goals.

Barnes should be the starting kicker for the Bulldogs Week 1 against N.C. State.

Voting Rundown: Jonathan Ford - No. 24 / Jason Jones - No. 24 / Jared King - No. 28

No. 22 LB Mike Schrang Analysis
Kingwood
Kingwood, Texas

Height: 6-1
Weight: 215
Year: Junior

Depth Chart Projection: Utility linebacker

2012 Stats: 46 tackles, 1 sack, 2 pass breakups, 2 pass deflections, 1 fumble recovery and forces fumble

Many are wondering, what in the world is a utility linebacker. It's something we made up because of how versatile Schrang is. As a converted linebacker from safety, Schrang is good in pass defense and run defense and saw time at middle linebacker and outside linebacker during the spring.

Schrang could see time at both linebacking positions this fall.

Schrang was the leading tackler during the Spring with 7 tackles.

Voting Rundown: Jonathan Ford - No. 19 / Jason Jones - No. 27 / Jared King - No. 29

No. 21 OL Larry Banks Analysis

Copiah-Lincoln C.C.
Fayette, Miss.

Height: 6-4
Weight: 325
Year: Senior

Depth Chart Projection: No. 1 left guard

Banks played left tackle some last year and started there during the spring before being moved to left guard midway through the spring. He did well at left guard and should be the starter week 1 against N.C. State.

Voting Rundown: Jonathan Ford - No. 32 Jason Jones - No. 18 / Jared King - No. 16

NEXT UP: Ranking No. 16-20
