Week Four Preview

Week three of the college football season brought us Louisiana Tech's Conference USA matchup and first C-USA loss when they hosted in-state rival Tulane in The Joe Thursday night.

C-USA has just one game on national television this week; Louisiana Tech will travel to Kansas to take on the Jayhawks live on Fox Sports 1.

Matchups to watch this week include Louisiana Tech vs. Kansas, Rice will host Houston and Marshall will travel to Virginia Tech, who defeated ECU in week three.

Here's a look at every game involving C-USA including 2014 league members Western Kentucky and Old Dominion plus Tech's non-conference opponents. Each game includes the Vegas line and my pick to win the game. My record currently stands at 21-11.

Yahoo! College Football Scoreboard

Lines are for entertainment purposes only, picks are head-to-head.

Louisiana Tech (1-2) at Kansas (1-1) - 11:00 a.m., FOX Sports 1
THE BUZZ: The Bulldogs are looking to bounce back from an ugly loss to Tulane in Week 3. We expect Kenneth Dixon to be back for this game but we still have no word on the status of QB Scotty Young. Kansas lost to Rice last week in a close game; the Jayhawks defense held Rice to just one offensive TD in the 23-14 loss.
THE LINE: Kansas by 9
FIU (0-3) at no. 7 Louisville (3-0) - 11:00 a.m., ESPN3
THE BUZZ: Bethune-Cookman defeated FIU in week three to tally their first ever victory over an FBS program. That is the sad state at which FIU football rests. The Panthers are traveling to Papa John's Cardinal Stadium to take on Teddy Bridgewater in week 4. I don't like their chances.
THE LINE: Louisville by 41
THE PICK: Louisville
Marshall (2-1) at Virginia Tech (2-1) - 11:00 a.m.,WatchESPN
THE BUZZ: Marshall suffered a narrow defeat at the hands of Ohio in week 3. The Herd mounted a rally in the 4th quarter but was unable to recover the onside kick and Ohio sealed the victory by a score of 34-31. Virginia Tech put on a defensive clinic in week three against ECU. The Hokies registered seven sacks, 11 TFL and three interceptions in their 15-10 win over the Pirates.
THE LINE: Virginia Tech by 11
THE PICK:Virginia Tech
Middle Tennessee (2-1) at FAU (1-2) - 11:00 a.m., Not Televised
THE BUZZ: Week three saw FAU get its first win of the young season over in-state rival USF by a score of 28-10. The Bulls have now fallen to 0-3 on the season. MT is also coming off a win; the Blue Raiders defeated in-state rival Memphis by a score of 17-15.
Wake Forest (1-2) at Army (1-2) - 11:00 a.m., CBS Sports Network
THE BUZZ: Army will be playing host to a Wake Forest team who has lost to ULM and Boston College. The Demon Deacon's only victory has come against FCS Presbyterian. Army kept their matchup with Stanford close up to halftime but the Black Knights' offense couldn't respond in the second half and Army lost by a score of 34-20.
THE LINE: Wake Forest by 4
THE PICK: Wake Forest
North Texas (2-1) at No. 9 Georgia (2-1) - 11:21 a.m., ESPN3
THE BUZZ: This one could get ugly early for the Mean Green. The Georgia Bulldogs are in the middle of the hardest stretch of their schedule coming off of a loss to Clemson week one followed by a victory over South Carolina in week 2 they now face the Mean Green before hosting LSU. Mark Richt has had an extra week to prepare for this game and I fully expect a blowout.
THE LINE: Georgia by 36.5
THE PICK: Georgia
Tulane (2-1) at Syracuse (1-2) - 2:00 p.m., Not Televised
THE BUZZ: Tulane is now 2-1 on the year after defeating Louisiana Tech in conference play last Thursday night. The Green Wave now travel to Syracuse. Syracuse is 1-2 on the season but they have faced two tough opponents, losing to Penn State and Northwestern. The Orange are looking to put together a solid victory before taking on No. 3 Clemson next week.
THE LINE: Syracusa by 10.5
THE PICK: Syracuse
Northwestern State (2-1) at UAB (0-2) - 6:00 p.m., Not Televised
THE BUZZ: The Demons suffered a 66-9 loss to the Cincinnati Bearcats last week and travel to Legion Field to take on the UAB Blazers week 4. The Blazers lost to Troy in overtime week one and lost to LSU in week two but they've had a week off to prepare for NW St. and I fully expect the Blazers to come out on top.
Houston (2-0) at Rice (1-1) - 2:00 p.m., Not Televised
THE BUZZ: Houston and Rice will square off Saturday at Reliant Stadium in Houston. The Houston Cougars are 2-0 on the season after defeating the Temple Owls in week two while Rice is 1-1 with a loss against Texas A&M and a win over Kansas. The Cougars are giving up just 13 points a game through two contests and are averaging 295 rushing yards per game. Vegas expects this game to be close and I have to agree. This would be a fun game to watch if only it were televised.
THE LINE: Houston by 4
THE PICK: Houston
Citadel (1-0) at Old Dominion (0-1) - 5:00 p.m., Not Televised
THE BUZZ: Old Dominion put up 76 points against FCS Howard last week in a 76-19 victory for the Monarchs. Old Dominion should roll again this week against the Citadel Bulldogs.
THE PICK: Old Dominion
Morgan State (1-1) at Western Kentucky (1-1) - 6:30 p.m., ESPN3
THE BUZZ: Western Kentucky will play host to FCS Morgan St. Saturday. Morgan St. is 0-3 on the season with a loss to Army on their resume. Western Kentucky conference rival South Alabama in week three. The Hilltoppers jumped out to an early 21-10 lead but couldn't hang on in the second half and were defeated by a final score of 31-24.
THE LINE: Western Kentucky by 33
THE PICK: Western Kentucky
UTSA (0-1) at UTEP (0-2) - 7:00 p.m., Not Televised
THE BUZZ: UTEP had a big win over New Mexico St. in week three handily defeating the Aggies by a score of 42-21. UTEP will be playing host to in-state rival UTSA which is also UTSA's first conference matchup. The Roadrunners have lost back to back games and are looking to right the ship against UTEP before they get into the meat of their conference schedule.
