Team Effort Leads 'Dogs Past Southern Miss

Louisiana Tech (13-9, 4-5) led by as many as 31 before defeating Southern Miss (11-12, 4-5) 89-66 inside the Thomas Assembly Center Saturday night.

The Bulldogs came out of the gate clicking on all cylinders in the first half knocking down 71% of their field goal attempts, including 11 three pointers which gave Tech a 57-27 halftime lead.

In the win, Jacobi Boykins led five Bulldogs in double figures with 20 points including six three pointers that all came in the first half. Freshman point guard, Amorie Archibald, recorded his second career double-double with 14 points and 10 assists. Jy'lan Washington added 15 points, while Oliver Powell and Jacolby Pemberton chipped in 10 points each.

Louisiana Tech's young backcourt turned it over only nine times in the win while dishing out 21 assists.

Tyree Griffin led the Golden Eagles with 14 points in the loss.

Louisiana Tech, winners of three straight, will now get set for a road trip next week when they travel to Florida to take on Florida Atlantic and Florida International.
