Tech adds a P5 2016 signee on report day

Former Oklahoma Sooners signee, Adrian Hardy, reported to Fall Camp today in Ruston.

Louisiana Tech's players reported for Fall Camp today and added length and athleticism with a former 2016 Power 5 conference signee.

Back on June 24 we reported Tech was in the mix for Oklahoma signee Adrian Hardy and then again that Tech was in good shape with him last week. Today, a half hour before Skip Holtz held his Fall Camp Report Day press conference, we broke the news Hardy had reported and was now a Bulldog.

Hardy projects as a wide receiver but played quarterback at Houston Dekaney High School (Texas).

"He brings size, speed, athleticism and all of the measurable things that we talk about," Louisiana Tech head coach Skip Holtz said Sunday. "Obviously, he is a phenomenal athlete. He was a quarterback in high school. I will be excited to see where he is as a freshman and how ready he is to contribute early. He will be one of the better athletes on our football team as soon as we walk out on the field."

With a corps of wide receivers that is arguably the deepest and most talented in Conference USA, Hardy makes the group at worst even more athletic.

"I think he brings some explosiveness, some size and some athleticism to a very talented position for us right now," Holtz added. "He brings it to us as a true freshman. I think he is a phenomenal addition and I am anxious to get out on the field with him."

He chose the Sooners offer an offer from Texas A&M and Tech had to fight others off for him before adding him in the "eleventh hour" according to Holtz. Hardy will be eligible immediately at Louisiana Tech as he never enrolled at Oklahoma.
