Tech Falls on Senior Night to MTSU
Louisiana Tech (16-12, 7-8) fell to Middle Tennessee (22-5, 14-1) Saturday night 87-70.
Tech trailed by as many as 11 in the first half as Middle Tennessee came out firing on all cylinders. The Bulldogs closed the gap to six at the half thanks to two Jacobi Boykins three pointers.
Middle Tennessee then began the second half on an 18-3 run to stretch their lead out to 21. The lead was too much for Tech to overcome as the ‘Dogs were only able to trim the lead to six with 7:18 remaining in the game before eventually falling.
In his final game at the Thomas Assembly Center, Jacobi Boykins scored 22 points and knocked down six of ten three pointers. Anthony Duruji also chipped in 11 points and six rebounds.
For Middle Tennessee, Nick King continued his campaign for Conference USA Player of the Year with 25 points and 10 rebounds.
The Dunkin’ Dogs will be back in action February 22nd when they travel to El Paso to take on UTEP. Tip is set for 8PM CT.
