Ryan Kemp will lead a potent Middle Tennessee lineup this weekend when the play host to the Diamond Dogs.

The Diamond Dogs (35-16, 16-11) will hit the road to Murfreesboro, TN to take on Middle Tennessee State (22-30, 8-19) this weekend.

The ‘Dogs are coming off a sweep of Marshall which saw them score 32 runs in the three game set. Middle Tennessee comes into the weekend after losing two of three games to the red-hot Rice Owls. With the Conference USA tournament beginning next week, Tech needs to win this series in order to secure a top three seed and maintain their solid RPI in hopes of getting an at-large NCAA Tournament bid.

For the Blue Raiders, the name of the game is offense. If Tech can pitch effectively throughout the weekend they should see a great deal of success.

Middle Tennessee is lead offensively by Ryan Kemp and Aaron Aucker who are hitting .370 and .361 on the season respectively. Kemp has seven home runs on the year while Aucker has nine long balls.

With an offense that is hitting .304 on the year and averaging just under seven runs per game, the Tech pitching staff will be in for the quite the challenge.
