Randy Hogan, a 6-1 230 pound linebacker from Pearl River Community College has committed to Louisiana Tech. Hogan, a native of Pascagoula, MS, will help fill a void left at linebacker with the departures of seniors Dalton Santos and Jordan Harris.

"I’ve been talking to (LA Tech Assistant) Coach Lanier Goethie since the beginning of football season," said Hogan, who had 78 tackles on the season for Pearl River. "I feel like I would be a pretty good fit in the defense they run. I’m pretty familiar with some of the schemes and I’m excited to be coached by the defensive staff they have."

Hogan recently visited Louisiana Tech and the visit sealed the deal in his mind. "I loved it from the second I arrived" admitted Hogan. "The coaches and players showed me love and made me feel like LA Tech was the place for me. The fan base is great as well. Everyone is tuned in."

Hogan has offers from LA Tech, ULM, and Jackson State among others. He has also been in recent contact with Central Michigan and a few other schools. He plans on signing in December.

Hogan could help out inside or outside for Louisiana Tech. With Russell Farris and Brandon Durman returning, Hogan gives Defensive Coordinator Blake Baker another versatile option in the middle of the defense; similar to that of Jordan Harris in 2016.
