As Louisiana Tech sits at 12 commitments, they very well may be coming down the final stretch of the 2017 class thanks to a small senior class walking out the door.

By our count, Tech has 18 players on scholarship in its senior class. We know Skip Holtz likes to hold a few spots for fifth-year transfers and with 23 in the 2016 and a couple of December Junior College transfers in the 2017 class, there's not much room to count anyone back. So with the last few available spots, Tech will look at its depth chart to see what positions it needs most.

"This is the first year we're at a full 85 (scholarship) allotment which I think has been huge," Skip Holtz said on BleedTechBlue Radio Tuesday night. "We've been taking 25, the NCAA maximum allotment we can take, and I think it has made a huge difference to get here but as we're getting into this season I think right now as you get down to the final few you've got to look at where do you still have needs for 2017 season and where do you have needs for the 2020 season."
