Dixon Named to FWAA Freshman All-America Team

RUSTON - Louisiana Tech running back Kenneth Dixon was named Freshman All-America the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) announced Monday.
Already named the Western Athletic Conference's Freshman of the Year and receiving Freshman All-America honors from CBS Sports and Scout's websites, Dixon led the nation in scoring with 28 total touchdowns (27 rushing) break's Marshall Faulk's NCAA records for most touchdowns scored, most rushing touchdowns scored and most points, all for a freshman. Dixon had 200 rushes for 1,194 yards, just missing averaging 100 yards a game at 99.5. Dixon set the WAC record for most rushing touchdowns at any class level.
Dixon was one of three WAC players named Freshman All-America along with linebacker Kyler Fackrell (Utah State) and kicker Austin Lopez (San Jose State).
The team and coach are selected by an 11-person panel of nationally-prominent writers led by Mike Griffith of the MLive Media Group. Both true freshmen (15 players) and redshirt freshmen (15 players) were considered for the team and are so noted.
