Tenth-seeded Louisiana Tech (17-16) certainly gave second-seeded, Old Dominion (25-6), all they could handle in the quarterfinals of the Conference USA tournament Thursday night before falling 62-58.

In what was a back and forth game throughout, Tech was unable to make the plays down the stretch that were needed in order to win.

An Oliver Powell free throw tied the game at 58 with 1:57 remaining, but the Bulldogs were unable to score again.

In a game that was physical throughout, Old Dominion made 16 of 18 free throw attempts while Tech was only able to connect on 2 of 5.

Derric Jean played another strong game in the loss, contributing 14 points, five rebounds, and four assists.

Jacobi Boykins, in his final game as a Bulldog, scored 10 points and grabbed four rebounds.

For the Monarchs, B.J. Stith scored a game high 22 points, including 19 in the second half, and pulled down 12 rebounds. The Virginia transfer willed his team to victory scoring nine of Old Dominion's final 12 points.

Trey Porter also chipped in 18 points in the win.

Louisiana Tech finishes its season with a 17-16 overall record. With Jacobi Boykins being the lone senior, the future is certainly bright when looking at the 2018-2019 season.
