Tech has had a far from ideal start in conference play with road losses at Western Kentucky and Marshall.

The Bulldogs really struggled to score the basketball Saturday night at Marshall. The Bulldogs shot only 41% from the field in the 13 point defeat. Jacobi Boykins led the Bulldogs in double-figures with 15 points, and Daquan Bracey and Derric Jean each had 14.

UTSA enters tonight’s contest off of a tough one-point home loss to North Texas 72-71.

The Roadrunners possess one of the nation’s highest scoring teams averaging nearly 86 points per game. The key to their success is the three ball. Attempting a whopping 29 three’s per game, the Roadrunners like to play at a frantic up and down pace.

Jhivan Jackson leads UTSA in scoring, averaging 17.2 points per game. Keaton Wallace is the only other Roadrunner averaging double-figures scoring 14.3 points per game.

Louisiana Tech will need to play well in order to defeat a much improved UTSA team. Although it’s early, Tech needs a win on its home court in order to get back in the conference race.
