Enemkpali named WAC defensive player of the week

DENVER - Louisiana Tech defensive end IK Enemkpali was named the WAC Defensive Player of the Week following his performance in Tech's 27-7 win at Ole Miss. With the win, the Bulldogs have qualified for a bowl game this season.

Enemkpali, a sophomore from Pflugerville, Texas (Pflugerville HS), had six tackles, including 3.5 for a loss of 18 yards, in the 27-7 win at Mississippi. Enemkpali had a sack for a loss of seven yards and also forced a fumble. He helped hold the Rebels to a 5-of-18 third-down conversion rate and kept the Bulldogs' streak intact of holding every opponent they face under their rushing average coming into the game.
Louisiana Tech (6-4, 4-1 WAC) takes a five-game winning streak to Nevada (6-3, 4-0) where the Wolf Pack own a 16-game home winning streak at Mackay Stadium. Kickoff is set for 3:05 p.m. CT/1:05 p.m. PT in Reno, Nev.
