Oak Grove's Mote commits to Tech

Louisiana Tech returns a veteran offensive line for 2016 and loses four offensive linemen to graduation following the season. The 2017 class now sports two offensive linemen Conner Estes and as of Thursday evening Joshua Mote.

Mote (6-3, 270) is a prototypical interior offensive lineman. In his highlight tape he shows a relentless motor on his blocks driving defenders down the field. Not to mention, he's a second generation Tech offensive lineman after his father Mike played for the Bulldogs in the 1990's.

Four years ago, Mote made a list of schools he would love to play for, Tech was on the list so his commitment is a bit of a dream come true.

"About four years ago I wrote down that I wanted to have a chance to play D1 ball at different places and tech was one of them," Mote told BleedTechBlue.com Thursday night.

Others on the list were Arkansas State, Tulane, Southern Miss and ULM -- all of which he holds offers from.

Yes, Mote is a legacy to Louisiana Tech but that had little to do with the his father's joy following learning his son would play for his alma mater.

"He was proud of me," the youngest Mote said of the oldest. "But, I think he was just excited for me because I was happy with my decision."

Mote reports a 3.7 GPA and 22 on the ACT projecting as a full-qualifier through the NCAA Clearinghouse.
