Three Keys to Victory: South Alabama

1. Dominate the Line of Scrimmage: With South Alabama coming to Ruston Saturday night, Louisiana Tech will need to win at the line of scrimmage in order to win the football game. On the year, the Jaguars are rushing for 153 yards per game while giving up just over 120 yards per game defensively. The Tech offensive and defensive lines have been challenged in a big way through four games. South Alabama will come in with a game plan that wants to win at the point of attack. If the Jaguars are successful in doing so, Joey Jones and his team will give the Bulldogs all they can handle.

2. Feed the ‘Factory’: Jarred Craft and Boston Scott make up perhaps the most dynamic duo in Conference USA. Craft and Scott were limited to only 76 total yards on 24 touches against South Carolina Saturday. With Teddy Veal and Rhashid Bonnette playing a bigger role in the passing game, the Bulldogs may not need to lean on Craft and Scott as much as they did through the first two games of the season. With that said, the duo will still need to find success on the ground and through the air for the Tech offense to reach its fullest potential. Look for Craft and Scott to get things going early and often Saturday for the Bulldogs.

3. Limit the Turnovers: Tech won the turnover battle against South Carolina, but it did not lead to a Bulldog victory. It was crushing in the least, but it was a winning formula nonetheless. Tech is a 13.5 point favorite against an inferior South Alabama squad. If J’Mar Smith and his running mates can protect the football offensively, the Bulldogs will steamroll the Jaguars.
